Responsibility (ship in-charge):

1. At Hyundai Vinashin shipyard ( Ninh Hoa, Khanh Hoa):

- To undertake all blasting, grinding and painting inspection work with owner representative and paint maker.

- Read and understand a coating specification, surface preparation and coating preparation.

- To carry out environmental test instrument and inspection equipment for example: test for soluble chemical salt contamination, dust test, profile test, holiday test,…

- Monitor weather and equipment condition during painting, coating operation.

- Ensure that paint material are using from approval paint manufacturers with valid pot life.

- Ensure that the application of the coating is carried out as per the technical data sheet of the manufacturers and approval painting specification.

- Ensure that the proper time interval between intermediate coats for proper chemical reaction.

2. At Steel Builder Co., Ltd & QH Plus Co., Ltd (Phu My, Ba Ria Vung Tau & Nhon Trach, Dong Nai):

- To inspect blasting, painting condition for each project and final condition before handover to Packing team.

- Check and record weather condition, coating thickness for each project and make daily report submit to QA/QC manager.

- Check paint material incoming warehouse as per PO.

- Check drawing (GA, detail,…), take off material from detail drawing and drawing revision.

- Check 3D model by Tekla, AutoCAD program.

- Review project requirements and specifications.

3. At Austal Viet Nam Company (Dong Xuyen IP, Vung Tau):

A. Main role: QC Painting Engineer.

- Review painting drawing and understand project technical specification from the client.

- To undertake grinding and painting inspection with paint maker and QC sub-contractor (Viva Blast).

- Record weather condition, check surface profile, salt contamination and dust test with paint maker, QC sub-contractor before apply coating.

- Check paint materials from the sub-contractor and ensure application of coating is carried out follow product datasheet.

- Ensure that proper time interval from first coat to final coat and pot life during the apply coating.

- Hand over paint areas for the sub-contractor as per Austal Viet Nam schedule.

- Remind QC, leaders, workers from the sub-contractor should be following safety requirement in Austal Viet Nam.

- Review paint reports from QC sub-contractor and make daily painted areas reports submit to Quality manager, Project manager.

- To contact another team in Austal Viet Nam and Austal Australia resolve problems happen.

- After the set up Austal Viet Nam painting team: check paint material, paint consumable incoming warehouse, instruction for the grinder, painter follow Austal painting standard.

- Support painting manager makes MR, MTO,…to order paint material, paint consumable and resolve all painting issues from the top managers.

B. Additional role: QC structural and fit-out, insulation engineer.

- Attend survey units and erection joints final condition with class and client.

- To inform and clarify class, client comment after survey to fabrication team and relevant team.

- Control and close comment with class, client on time.

- Unscheduled check and make issues to improve quality.

- Give advice to fabrication team to meet requirements, regulation from class, client.

- Review material certificate submit by fit-out, insulation team to meet class requirement.

- Check installation condition of fit-out team: seats, doors, hatches, windows, floor leveler, floor covering, panels, lifebuoys, life rafts and all equipment installed on the vessel follow approved certificate and supplier drawing, manual.

- Check installation condition of insulation team: structural fire protection (CBG panel – A60 bulkhead & deck head), fire insulation A30, A60 follow approved certificate and supplier drawing, manual.

- Attend operation test of fit-out team: hose test (doors, hatches, windows at open space), ultrasonic test (doors, hatches at confined space), MES & life raft test, smoke tight test,…

- Invite class to witness all items from fit-out, insulation team. Certification: certificate of completion generic refresh awareness and internal audit skill training on ISO

 9001:2015 issued on 3rd Nov, 2020 by Bureau Veritas.

 Restricted working hour: No.

Able to work in: all provinces/cities for the project if necessary.
